Hermann Zapf
Sistina
Sistina in metal

Sistina was designed by Hermann Zapf in 1950 and released in metal by Stempel in 1951. The typeface was first named Aurelia Titling and was designed as a companion to the lighter Michelangelo Titling. Originally an all-caps font, Linotype’s digital version of Sistina includes small caps. Zapf and Akira Kobayashi recently developed a new version of Sistina known as Palatino Imperial. This reworking is part of the Palatino Nova family of types.
