Benefits (US)

Medical:
Medical insurance for Monotype Imaging employees and their families is provided by Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts. We offer a high-deductible PPO plan with a company funded Healthcare Reimbursement Account. We also offer coverage for domestic partners.

Dental:
Dental insurance is provided by Sun Life Financial. We offer a comprehensive plan meant to provide a wide range of benefits to suit your dental care needs.

Vision:
Monotype Imaging offers a voluntary vision plan EyeMed Vision Care. This benefit offers allowances and discounts on eyewear and materials with premiums paid for through payroll deduction on a pre-tax basis. EyeMed Vision Care’s provider network consists of private practicing optometrists, ophthalmologists, opticians, as well as optical retailers such as LensCrafters, Pearle Vision, Sears Optical, Target Optical, and JCPenney Optical.

Flexible Spending Accounts:
Employees can elect to participate in a Flexible Spending Account Reimbursement program, which allows you to set aside pre-tax dollars for qualified health care and/or dependent care expenses. The maximum annual contribution for Healthcare FSA is $2500 and for Dependent Care FSA is $5000. This plan offers the debit card option for added convenience.

Short-Term & Long-Term Disability:
Both Short-Term Disability (STD) and Long Term Disability (LTD) are fully paid benefits by Monotype Imaging. The STD benefit pays 100 percent of salary for the first 30 calendar days and 66 2/3 percent for the next 60 calendar days. LTD coverage begins after 90 calendar days out of work and pays a monthly benefit of 66 2/3 percent of salary.

Basic Life and AD&D Insurance:
Basic Life and Accidental Death & Dismemberment Insurance is also fully paid by the company at coverage of two times your base salary up to a maximum of $500,000.

Supplemental Life Insurance:
Employees have the option to buy additional life insurance for themselves, their spouse and their dependent children at a minimal cost through our Supplemental Life Insurance plan.

401(k):
We help employees save for retirement by offering a 401(k) savings plan that allows both pre-tax and after-tax contribution options Employees may contribute up to 50 percent of their annual salary to a 401(k) account with a discretionary match offered by Monotype Imaging.

Tuition Reimbursement:
Monotype Imaging is committed to supporting professional development for our employees who want to pursue higher education on a part-time basis and achieve a degree that is related to their current or future career at Monotype Imaging. We offer tuition reimbursement for all approved courses after obtaining a grade of C or better.

Discounted Home & Auto Insurance:
As an employee of Monotype Imaging, you could save hundreds of dollars on your car and home insurance with Liberty Mutual Group Savings Plan. Liberty Mutual can offer you many innovative features and benefits while providing you with valuable advice and excellent service. New and existing Liberty Mutual policy holders can receive five percent off auto and home/tenant insurance, and by having multiple policies with Liberty Mutual, you can receive discounts totaling up to 25 percent.

Health Advocate:
Health Advocate is a special benefit paid for by Monotype Imaging to help you and your entire family navigate the healthcare system and maximize your healthcare benefits. Health Advocate’s comprehensive services will help with clinical and administrative issues involving your medical, hospital, vision, dental, pharmacy and other healthcare needs.

Employee Assistance Program:
Monotype Imaging offers an Employee Assistance Program to all employees and their families.

Paid Time Off (US)

Vacation Time:
Employees accrue three weeks of vacation time per year. After 10 years of service, employees accrue four weeks of vacation time per year.

Company Holidays:
Monotype Imaging observes 10 companies paid holidays throughout the year.

Discretionary Holidays:
Employees accrue three discretionary holidays annually that can be used anytime throughout the year at the employee’s discretion.

Maternity, Paternity, Adoption Leave:
Employees who have a new child, either through birth or adoption, are granted one week of paid leave to spend time with their newest family member.
